I hope you all had a nice celebration so far and I'm sorry I'm not at home with you...
I have Roy here in Dar now and we're really enjoying the time together. The last days we've spent in a little national park north of Dar, Saadani. We rented a car, a Land Rover of course... didn`t get a Defender but got ourselves a comfortable Discovery and Roy's been a perfect driver. We did a very early morning safari on 24th, belive it or not but Roy struggled more then me to get up. We drove around in the park by ourselves, very nice. Later in the morning we went on a river safari and said hello to some hippos, who're soooo much bigger than I've ever imaged!
We spent Christmas eve at a BEAUTIFUL lodge, Tent with a view far away in no man's land were we didn`t even have network on our phones... we have to admit that we felt a bit isolated. The host at the lodge really tried to make a bit of a Christmas atmosphere but I must say it's hard to get in a Christmas spirit in the middle of the African bush... My mum had sent me a Christmas tablecloth with “nisser” and everything so we had that one on the table, got ourselves two coca cola`s, since they're red... and sat on the porch and opened our presents. I must tell you about the present I got from Roy; he had made me a little film where he said many nice things... and he had gotten friends of mine to tape a grating for me!!!! It was so great to see you again and hear your voices!! I was sitting there with tears in my eyes and felt a bit of a sting with homesickness... I miss you all very much!

So good to hear that you had a sort of Christmas celebration! Sounds like a very nice trip, and I'm glad you had Roy there during Christmas! We missed you all at the dinner at Linda and Ove's place, but we gave a toast for you! All the best for the new year!
Miss you loads!
